Litigation Attorney

Global Legal is a rapidly growing boutique law firm that focuses on complex litigation, mostly in the electronic payments and franchise industries. We are a team atmosphere, meaning we understand and value that each team member is as valuable as the next, regardless of title, position, or authority. We are looking for an attorney with experience in litigation and contract review that appreciates a relaxed — but driven — environment; and who can help lead strategy and processes.

You will need litigation experience, preferably in California. This is an in-person position. The preferred candidate will possess a minimum of 3 years of California state/federal civil litigation experience.

Global prides itself on creating opportunities for its entire team. If you want to get a seat at the table with the partners, you will have that chance, and on an expedited basis. Your typical day will require flexibility and solid time management.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Research caselaw and write motions; review and draft discovery;
  • Effective case management;
  • Meet and collaborate with attorneys and paralegals on strategy;
  • Report, track, and update statuses on matters;
  • Review regulations to advise on compliance matters;
  • Review, edit and redline agreements;
  • Challenge every team member, even the partners, on their thinking and strategy;
  • Other tasks as related to successful case management.

You are expected to achieve success by leading yourself, your team, and the business. Specifically, you will:

  • Lead your team with integrity and create an environment where your team members feel included, valued, and supported to do work that energizes them.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of California civil litigation experience
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills;
  • Ability to interact with integrity and a high level of professionalism with all levels of team members and management;
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills.

Litigation Paralegal

Job description

 

We are a rapidly growing law firm that focuses on complex litigation, mostly in the electronic payments industry in state and federal court nationwide using local counsel. We enjoy a collaborative atmosphere, where we understand that each team member brings their own set of skills and is as valuable as the next, regardless of title, position, or authority. We are looking for an experienced candidate who possesses a positive attitude, with a desire to learn.

 

Two years of civil litigation experience preferred.

Paralegal certificate or commensurate experience preferred.

 Your typical day will require flexibility and solid time management.

Responsibilities may include:

Detailed case management for assigned cases, including maintenance of filing deadlines, hearing dates, and post-judgment matters.

  • Preparation, review and drafting of all pleadings/forms.
  • Correspondence and discovery, as needed, including interrogatories, requests for admissions, and document production.
  • General review of and research.
  • Working directly with clients to obtain case information and act as an intermediary between clients and attorneys.
  • Working with local counsel in other states to facilitate the filing of pleadings in cases filed outside of California. Preparing pleadings for out-of-state jurisdictions based on templates as provided by local counsel.
  • Time entry and billing.
  • Assisting with general paralegal tasks assigned as needed.
